He has been a senior researcher at Colciencias, renowned research centers, and public entities on topics concerning urban violence, the family, youth, street dwellers, and means of communication, as well as researcher or advisor in the creation or strengthening of Information and Knowledge and Research and Development (R+D) programs. He has lectured frequently at different Colombian universities, and is often consulted and cited by the country’s main media on different topics.
He is the author of: (a) Características, dinámicas y condiciones de emergencia de las pandillas en Bogotá (2004) (Characteristics, Dynamics, and Conditions of Emergence of Street Gangs in Bogotá); (b) Condición popular y formas de socialización en Ciudad Bolívar – Bogotá (2003) (Popular Condition and Forms of Socialization in Ciudad Bolívar – Bogotá); and (c) Conceituação e análise de dados a partir da investigação Quinto Censo de Moradores de Rua da Cidade de Bogotá D.C. – 2007 (2008) (Conceptualization and Analysis of Data on the Basis of the Fifth Census of Homeless People in the City of Bogotá D.C.). He also directed and edited issues No. 6 and 7 of the Revista Seré..., published by IDIPRON.
